Les ports du golfe d'Aigues-Mortes de Pérols à Port Camargue : État de la qualité des eaux et impact des activités de dragages

Abstract : The Mediterranean coastal zone represents an important socio-economic and ecological space undergoing strong pressures. The ports represent both areas of heavy pollution related to the density of activity but also areas of refuge for many biological species. From November 2019, three ports of the Gulf of Aigues Morte (Palavas, Pérols and Port-Camargue) conducted a mutualized dredging as part of the Regional Scheme of dredging in Occitania based on the recovery of dredged sediments by distinguishing between ports with contributions of sand of wind or current origin (Port Camargue and Palavas) and ports faced with contributions of sand and silt which may be contaminated by the port activity and/or the watershed (Pérols). The monitoring of the chemical and microbiological quality of the harbour waters during these dredging operations allowed us to determine the impact of these operations on the resuspension of contaminants and the possible disturbances induced.
