Enseigner les arts plastiques au collège : une mise en tension entre créativité et efficacité.

Abstract : We propose to render an account of the way art teachers carry out in their classes efficient solutions to take in hand and teach classes without renouncing to the artistic aspect of their subject. We underline that the set up of students’ work and their encounter with works of art go through professional gestures specifically linked to the control of the exercises conditions by the art teacher and also to the tactful instructions which are given (Espinassy 2006). We talk in reference to the analysis of teacher’s activity. We observe a specific tool, long time called “ incentive” in art teaching jargon, which is the self starter of getting down to work, which allows various plastic productions and open interaction with the artistic field. “The incentive” proposed by the art teacher creates a specific environment in which the interaction between works of art and students takes place through plastic experiment, both individual and collective, experienced in the classroom.
