Femmes et récits de soi. Un champ méditerranéen entre assignations, appropriations et action (XVIe-XXIe siècle) ?

Abstract : From the perspective of a historiographical field in full development, this article studies the way by which it is possible to analyse the practice of women’s writing in the Mediterranean over the longue durée where heterogenity acquires heuristic value. Self-narratives, the diverse possibilities of saying « I » which run the gamut from feminine subservience to the deconstruction of so-called natural categories such as belonging to a given sex, to a more or less individualistic society or to an enclosed cultural space are means by which one may describe gendered forms of individuation, measure their level of autonomy, explore their emancipating capacity.
