Matérialité immobilière et identité de la communauté. Réflexions à partir de l'exemple provençal, XIIIe-XVe siècle

Abstract : Based on the revival which Provençal urban history is currently enjoying, thanks notably to a series of studies of the registers of communal debates in different urban communities during the early Middle Ages, this paper proposes to lay out a first few markers concerning the materiality of real estate (spaces, places, buildings, etc.) which a Provençal community may have taken on as it was constructing itself and adopting statutes. Our thoughts turn to two more particular points: the meeting places of the community and the material expressions of the ideology of communal good.
