Les enquêtes photographiques auprès des touristes : un support à l'analyse des représentations microterritoriales des stations balnéaires

Abstract : Photographic surveys among tourists : a support for the analysis of microterritoral representations of seaside resorts Abstract : The photographic medium, already advocated by Kevin Lynch in 1960, is still very rarely used to support investigations in urban research. Experienced in the context of an analysis of microterritorial resorts, it is the central tool of the approach presented in this article. Focusing on the "free" categorization of one hundred thirty-four images, these photographic surveys were conducted with Landes tourists. Respondents ranked images submitted to them by their own standards of analysis. Using this device has enabled us to decode the underlying systems of representations at work and highlight microterritorial markers in seaside resorts. The present article discusses the foundations and results of this approach, highlighting the questions it raises.
