L'ex-voto des visitandines de Marseille de François Arnaud (1721) ou « l’éclatante mémoire » de la peste en présence de Dieu

Abstract : Oil on canvas painted in 1721 for the second monastery of the Visitation of Marseilles after the plague of 1720. Representation in the upper part of the Trinity, the Virgin, Saints Francis de Sales and Roch and in the earthly part, seven Visitandines and souls in purgatory, in the landscape of the Grand Cours. A work by François Arnaud (circa 1680, 1750), which does not refer to the cult of the Sacred Heart, promoted by Bishop de Belsunce on the occasion of the plague.
