Esuli, emigrati e viaggiatori italiani negli scritti di Enrico Deaglio

Abstract : In the works of Enrico Deaglio (1947), journalist and writer, travellers, emigrants, immigrants and exiles from and to Italy often appear. In his last two novels, which straddle the line between fiction and non-fiction, Storia vera e terribile tra Sicilia e America (2015) and La zia Irene e l'anarchico Tresca (2018), the focus is on the intertwining of Italian emigration, the social and political reality of the United States and the reverberations between the latter and the history of Italy. It is precisely this dual perspective that sheds a new light on the events of emigration to the United States, in hybrid novels that mix social investigation, political history, memory and dystopia.
