La clinique de l'activité comme méthodologie de recherche et comme vecteur d’innovation pédagogique dans le contexte de l'enseignement instrumental ?

Abstract : The question this paper aims to answer is whether the self-confrontation method, used in a research context and not as a transformative intervention, has an impact on the reflexivity of music teachers, on the one hand, and whether it can be the starting point for pedagogical innovations, or at least for changes in their professional activity, on the other. For this purpose, simple self-confrontation interviews with two violin teachers, one novice, the other experienced, in the context of a research on the pedagogical legacy of the famous violinist Veda Reynolds were analysed using Jorro's (2005) model of the dimensions of reflexivity. It appears that the discourse and reflexive postures of these two teachers evolve over the course of the interviews, reaching a more mature level at the end of the second interview than at the end of the first. The results of this case study must be considered with all due caution and cannot be generalised. Moreover, they only concern the reflective postures of the participants and not actual changes in their professional activity, or even concrete pedagogical innovations. Nevertheless, they represent a promising avenue for professional development, as they highlight the potential of the activity clinic as a research methodology and as a vehicle for pedagogical innovation in the context of instrumental teaching.
