Transfert en double et processus adolescents : enjeux de nomination

Abstract : In this article, we propose that adolescent processes actualize the manifestations of a “double transference,” from which the subject constructs the therapist as a double by taking their name and/or giving it to them. The “double transference” thereby reveals the importance of adolescent processes in the subjective creation of self in therapeutic encounters, whether in the case of children, adolescents, or adults. To illustrate our point, we start from the common choice that led Rank and Freud to transform their first and last names. Next, we oppose adolescent processes to a developmental conception of adolescence in order to analyze clinical fragments resulting from our own encounters with a seven-year-old boy and a fifteen-year-old adolescent.
