Sequential Star Formation near the HII regions Sh 217 and Sh 219

Abstract

The HII regions Sh 217 and Sh 219 are textbook examples of a Stromgren sphere surrounded by an annular photodissociation region (PDR). The physical conditions present in this PDR have favored the formation of a second generation cluster, containing massive stars.
