Consortium franco-africain « AfriConnect » sur l'internet des objets

Abstract : We present here the Franco-African consortium "AfriConnect" concerning the Internet of Things (IoT) and established by 3 French-speaking universities, located in France, Morocco and Senegal. The different objectives of this project, which are the training of trainers, students, alumni and professionals; technical support and expertise for student-entrepreneurs and companies; and the promotion of IoT to a public of high school students, are based on two educational structures that each partner must have: an "IoT Lab" for the study, design and manufacture of connected objects and a "technology platform" for their deployment and testing in the context of specific applications. The latter were chosen to show the importance of IoT in two key areas linked to sustainable development and food, namely agriculture (market gardening) and renewable energy.
