El cine transcultural de Buñuel en México : el juego interfílmico y la autorreferencialidad en La hija del engaño (1951)

Abstract : Using the example of La hija del engaño, the double remake of Don Quintin el amargao filmed by Luis Buñuel in Mexico in 1951, we study the interplay and dialogue between Spanish and Mexican cultural themes and manifestations, inspired by aspects of society that the director was already exploring during his French surrealist period in the 1930s. Motives, scenes and cinematographic techniques forged in Europe and perfected in the United States were transformed and adapted to the new reality that Buñuel discovered in Mexico, without renouncing his obsessions or past aesthetic discoveries.
